Why is there a difference in yoke color?

As of now, we have cage-free and pasture chickens. The cage-free chicken's eggs will have a yellow yoke, while the pasture chicken's eggs will have an orange yoke. Both are good eggs.

Do the variety-colored eggs taste different?

No. A fresh chicken egg is a fresh chicken egg, no matter whether it's shell is green, blue, white, or brown.

How long do I have before I need to refrigerate the eggs I get from you?

The eggs you receive from us are within 5 days old (most of the time they are just a day or 2) because we have high turnover, so they are fresh. You can leave the eggs in a cool place for up to a week after you get them from us, but we suggest you refrigerate them after that time to keep them fresh. Our water-glassed eggs (coming in the fall of 2025) just need to be kept in a cool place and can last up to 18 months.

What do I need to do if I get a rotten egg?

We try our best to inspect the eggs. However if there is a crack that is missed, it may allow for the egg to rot quickly. Simply let us know and we'll get you a replacement dozen.
